What ColonyCat is

ColonyCat is software that helps community-cat caregivers and grassroots rescue groups coordinate care for community cats. By creating an account, you're agreeing to these terms.

Your account

You need a working email address to sign in. We use it to send magic-link sign-in messages, invitations, and operational notices. We don't sell or share your email with third parties, except as may be required by law (e.g., a valid subpoena or court order).

You're responsible for what you and your invited members do with your account. If someone in your organization abuses ColonyCat (spam, harassment, impersonation), the Organization Administrator is responsible for handling it. Platform staff may suspend or remove organizations that won't.

Your data

Records you enter (colonies, cats, feedings, reports, photos) belong to your organization. We store them so your team can use them. Platform staff don't read your records casually; we access them only when you ask us to or when investigating a specific abuse report you or someone else has filed.

You can export or delete your organization's data at any time. Organization export and delete live under Organization > Profile > Data for any Organization Administrator. Account export and delete live on your profile. Deletions have a 30-day grace window so a mistake can be cancelled. If something is stuck, email hello@colonycat.org.

Pricing

The Free tier covers up to 2 seats per organization (you plus one teammate). Paid tiers (Core, Pro, Max, plus Founder and Partner by quote) are billed monthly and include the seat counts shown on the plan picker. Verified 501(c)(3) rescues get 25% off whichever paid tier they choose, with the same seat count. Going over your seat cap is fine; we'll bill $1.50 per extra seat per month.

If we change pricing, current customers get at least 30 days' notice and the option to downgrade or cancel before the new price hits.

Acceptable use

Don't use ColonyCat to harass anyone, post illegal content, scrape data we haven't given you access to, or attempt to break into other organizations' records. We will suspend accounts that do.

Cancellation

You can leave at any time. We don't lock your data behind retention windows. An Organization Administrator can schedule deletion from Organization Profile; the organization and its records are permanently removed 30 days later. Cancel any time before the finalize date by signing in.

No warranty

ColonyCat is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service or that your data won't ever be lost. Keep backups of anything critical.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you materially, we'll email all Organization Administrators at least 14 days before the new version takes effect. Continued use after the new version means you accept it.
